Alexandria-Pineville MPO Launches Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update

The Rapides Area Planning Commission (RAPC) is updating the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the Alexandria-Pineville area. Known as Move 2050, this long-range plan will guide how we invest in roads, public transit, sidewalks, bike paths, and freight corridors through the year 2050. We are asking for your input to help create a safer, more efficient, and better-connected transportation system for everyone in our community.

What Is the MTP? The Metropolitan Transportation Plan is a federally required plan that outlines major transportation priorities and projects for the next 25 years. It affects how and where funding is spent on everything from roads and bridges to public transit and sidewalks.

How You Can Get Involved:
Take the Public Survey: Share your transportation concerns and priorities. Take the survey here.
Takes just 5–7 minutes | Responses are anonymous | Survey Closes August 31, 2025
Attend a Community Meeting: Speak with planners and neighbors, and help shape the region’s transportation vision. Event dates and locations coming soon!

Why Your Input Matters
This is your chance to help decide:
Which roads and intersections need the most attention
How to improve travel options for seniors, students, and families Where sidewalks, bike lanes, or transit service are most needed
How to ensure safe, reliable travel for everyone
